I spent the week in Chicago with high school art teachers from around the country. Our focus was on art and technology; my particular interests were in audio and video. It was a blast!

Faces Animation

On the first day our TA, Sharon Younger, took photos of each participant. This is a simple animation serving as a record of us.

First Thing

On Sunday morning, I woke up in my dorm room, and made a simple mpeg with my Olympus C-470 digital camera. I then played with this in iMovie and created the audio track using Audacity.

(audio track includes sample for Kid Koala's "Music for Morning People")

Water Study

On Tuesday we got to shoot footage with Canon video cameras. This piece features water activity from the Crown Fountain in Millennium Park.

(audio track includes sample from David Fodel's "Airborne")

Busy City

In this piece I focus on some smaller inhabitants of Chicago: flowers and mud dauber wasps. Again, I worked in iMovie and Audacity.

(audio track includes sample from David Fodel's "Lower Chakra Zing ")

Huge appreciations to our instructors Shawn Decker and Tiffany Holmes, our teacher assistants Dan St. Clair and Sharon Younger, and particularly Phil Baranowski the director of TICA and his lovely assistant Michelle Cleek.
