Born in Washington D.C. in 1963.

I spent many days over many years at the Smithsonian, National Gallery, Hirshhorn, Museum of Natural History, Dunbarton Oaks, and other amazing spots. These places, and the experiences I had in them, profoundly impacted my perception of the world, forging tactile, conceptual, and spiritual connections between creativity, art, science, and nature.

I schooled at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, earned a Bachelors of Fine Art in 1985.

I make art with most anything I get my hands on.

I live with David Fodel.

We have two children, now grown.

I earned an MA in Education in 2001.

I teach varied art classes at an alternative high school; I began teaching in 1994.

I live in Colorado.
