FINE ART Frankenpicture Project Outline


Objective:
In Photoshop, create an original composition using portions from Fine Art images found on the National Gallery Web site.


FIRST

Open Internet Browser
Use the bookmark: National Gallery of Art Online Tours,
or enter URL http://www.nga.gov/onlinetours/onlinetr.htm

Take time to look around at different images and artists

Choose a picture of:
a person
an indoor place
an outdoor place
an object/ thing


Save your choices into your Folder

SECOND

Open Photoshop and create a New document.
Give it a name.
make it 640 pixels x 480 pixels
72ppi

Select, Copy, and Paste chosen areas of your source images into your new Photoshop document.

Pay attention to Layers, each time you Paste into your document a new Layer will be generated, navigate between Layers to work on those image components.

Arrange & Tweak to Make it Yours
Explore the Transform options, Filters, and other manipulation tools while working on your "Frankenpicture."

Save Early, Save Frequently.

Why did you choose this image? Describe visual details, stylistic interest, familiarity/unfamiliarity with the Artist's work. etc...
Make your decision making process apparent.

Selection and Editing Process in Photoshop:

Very exact selections, edges are not chunky or sloppy: 4

Some edges are better edited and treated than others,
I did learn as I was going: 3

I could not seem to improve my technique: 2

Arrangement and Adjustment:

I moved selections around, altered their size, applied Filters, and explored Photoshop to create an image I am proud of: 3

I moved things around, and explored some options for changing size, but I could have done more: 2

I don't know how to change the size of selections, I did not explore the Filters, or I did not ask for help: 1
